In vitro evaluating the effect of titanium porcelain bond strength on the treatead surface of titanium discs prepared by CAD-CAM technology

Abstract (EN)
The aim of our study is to compare the application of fiber laser application with aluminum oxide sand blasting and cojet, which is one of the other surface roughening methods, which is used for the first time in this study. Effect of titanium-porcelain bond strength was investigated in this study. In total, 96 samples of titanium discs were prepared in a CAD/CAM device with a diameter of 6 mm and a height of 3 mm. Samples were divided into 6 groups (n: 10), including the control group, according to the applied surface treatment. Groups were formed according to the applied surface treatments. These are; One-way (horizontal) scanning with Yb:Fiber laser, two-ways (horizontal-vertical) scanning with Yb:Fiber laser, three-ways (horizontal-vertical- hypotenuse) scanning Yb:Fiber laser, Cojet, Sand blasting and Control group. After surface treatment on surface of titanium discs for different surface treatments; SEM imaging, wettability test and profilometer test were applied to the samples in each group. After surface treatments on titanium discs, including the control group; low heat porcelain (VITA Titanium Porcelain) with a diameter of 4 mm and a height of 3 mm was applied following the manufacturer's instructions. Afterwards, porcelain samples prepared with titanium inlays were placed in acrylic blocks and kept in 37 ± 1 ° C distilled water for 24 hours. Shear tests were applied to the samples embedded in prepared acrylic blocks and the results were evaluated. In the statistical evaluation of the obtained data; One-way analysis of variance (One Way Anova) was used to compare the istatistically differences of the mean values of the bond strenght between titanium and porcelain. In our study, Tukey-HSD and Dunnett's multiple comparison statistical test were used in determining the differences among the groups. According to the results of our study, the highest bond strength values on average; sand blasting and 3-way fiber laser roughness. As a result, no statistically significant difference was found between the groups. Although Yb:Fiber laser application is not found meaningful effect on titanium porcelain bond strength statistically, this method can be useful on titanium porcelain bonding., Key Words: Titanium, Yb:Fiber Laser, Surface Roughing, Porcelain
