Abstract (EN)

Enamel is the process of fusing a glazed surface on glass, ceramic and metal. It is one of the oldest arts in the history of humanity in terms of contemporary use, and examples have been found that have proven to be older than three thousand years. It is claimed by many to see enamel masterpieces in museums in Europe and America that this art is one of our most valuable legacies. Enamel; Includes design of lines, shapes, colors and textures. Enamel technique transforms them into surfaces or objects through art or craft. It is the reward of patience and glass fused to metal; but with its unique features and aesthetics, it can make an object invaluable. As a medium, it can be used in a variety of formats, from a small jewel to an architectural scale painting that covers an entire wall. Enamel making is carried out in craft workshops, schools and all over the world. Enamel, which has creative work opportunities, grows rapidly and makes it a useful art environment wherever it is applied. The aim of this study is to investigate the development process of enamel which is an inorganic-glass coating applied on metal and ceramic from past to present, to examine techniques and to create personal art projects by examining application examples in today's art. In Turkey, this is intended to contribute to increasing awareness of the widespread and art. As a result of this study, it is aimed to create a narrative style with the properties of metal, ceramic and glass materials by adhering to enamel techniques.
