The thoughts of Cemil Meriç on litarature

Cemil Meriç is a multi-faceted thinker who has expressed many inland ideas such as sociology, philosophy, history, language and literature. Cemil Meriç, who shaped the world of thought in Eastern and Western cultures, has evaluated the concepts of literature and world literature, literary genres, literary personalities and language on the basis of a critical and critical perspective in the religious, historical and social processes of different countries. Meriç's criticisms and evaluations shed light on his own period as well as later periods. Meriç, who has a wide esteem, has explained the concepts, events and people with their original expressions thanks to his intellectual ability and knowledge. Desiring to create a world literature, at the same time, he wanted Turkish literature and Turkish language to be nourished by their own resources, and expressed the literary and language understanding that emerged in various periods by making comparative arrangements and produced critical solutions by approaching the disciplines. In this work, while giving information about the life of Cemil Meriç, one of the important names of the Turkish thought life, his thoughts on the literature in his works and in his interviews were compiled.
