Abstract (EN)

Aim of this study was to inverstigate effect of eight weeks aerobic training on some circulatory and respiratory parameters of field hockey players. 11 healthy sedentary male subjects and 11 male field hockey players who are between 12-14 years, healthy and engaged in regular training participated as volunteer in this study. 8 weeks and 3 days per week of aerobic training program was applied to both groups. Field hockey players continued 3 days per week of hockey training as well as aerobic training. Some tests which are resting heart rate (RHR), systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) as circulatory parameters; vital capacity (VC), inspiratory capacity (IC), expiratory reserve volume (ERV), tidal volume (TV), forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume (FEV1), forced expiratory ratio (FEV1%) and maximal voluntary ventilation (MVV) as respiratory parameters were applied on subjects. Obtained datas were analyzed by SPSS for Windows 16.0. Paired Samples T Test was used for analysis of among the groups their own, Independent Samples T Test was used for analysis of between the groups. Significance was found RHR, SBP and DBP circulatory parameters of hockey group in p<0.05 level; RHR, SBP and DBP circulatory parameters of sedentary group in p<0.05 level; VC, IC, ERV, TV, FVC, FEV1, FEV1% and MVV respiratory parameters of hockey group in p<0.05 level; VC, IC, ERV, TV, FVC, FEV1 and MVV respiratory parameters of sedentary group in p<0.05 level among the goups their own. Significance was not found FEV1% respiratory parameter of sedentary group among the group?s own. Significance was found in RHR circulatory parameters between groups in p<0.05 level and VC, IC, ERV, TV, FVC, FEV1, FEV1% and MVV respiratory parameters between groups in p<0.05 level. Significance was not found SBP and DBP circulatory parameters between groups. As a result, it can be said to be positive effects of aerobic training on circulatory and respiratory parameters for both groups.
