The relationship between locus of control beliefs and trait anger-enger expression styles of women with sexual trauma experience

The aim of this study to investigate locus of control beliefs and trait anger-anger expression styles of womens with sexual trauma experience. In this study descriptive method and relationally survey model were used. The data was gathered from women with sexual traumatic life events who was applied to the psychiatry clinic of Gaziantep Şehitkamil Hospital. The data was gathered using ?Trait Anger-Anger Expressin Styles Scale?, ?Locus of Control Scale? and Demographic Information Form. The data was analysed via pearson correltaion co-efficient ve chi-square test (Kruskal-Wallis H test and Mann-Whitney U test). The results indicated that there was no significant relationship between anger-in scores and locus of control, anger-out scores and locus of control, anger-control scores and locus of control, trait-anger scores and anger-in scores, anger-in scores and anger-out scores, anger-in scores and anger-control scores of women with traumatic life event. According to the educational level, job, social support and suicide beliefs/attemps there was a significant relationship between locus of control scores and trait-anger scores of women with traumatic life event. There was no significant relationship between locus of control and trait-anger scores according to the age and monthly income variables. Results were interpreted with the light of literature. Based on these results, a number of recommandations are made.Key Words: Sexual Trauma, Locus of Control Belief, Trait-Anger and Anger- Expression Styles.
