Abstract (EN)
From the beginning to the present of animation, animal characters were created by attributing anthropomorphic features. Anthropomorphism is called a phenomenon in which animate and inanimate beings are represented by human features and movements; it is seen as a way of making non-human beings meaningful in human thought. In many studies, it is emphasized that anthropomorphism causes misperception of animals. The fundamental problem is that anthropomorphism emerges from the foundation of anthropocentrism, rather than the concept of anthropomorphism. "Anthropocentric anthropomorphism" refers to the emotional, popular humanization conveyed by all the animals that speak and sing in advertisements, television, movies and cartoons, which have little relation to their real counterparts but fit well with the popular image of the natural world. Today, media culture has become an important educational force in regulating meanings, values, and tastes that determine the norms that present and legitimize particular subject positions. Animal representations in the media and animation are introduced as a reflection of humans. This situation destroys the realities of animals and the negative situations that arise become invisible. In this research, the representation of animals in animation will be examined by researching existing studies, with a critical approach, through the problematization of "representation" from anti-anthropomorphist and anti-anthropocentric perspective.
