Abstract (EN)
In this study, the effects of dominant personality traits on children were examined. Basic qualitative research method is used in the study. Research group consists 30 primary students who are at 3th class in Şahinbey, Gaziantep. In the study, the cartoon which students prefer most is determined, then the students have the certains parts watched to determine the effects of cartoon characters on them. It was seen that Teen Titans Go is the cartoon that the students wants to watch most. There are 30 episodes watched by the students during the research. After the last episode, interviews were conducted. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the data. According to data obtained during the research, based on the opinons of the students and the observation of the researcher, the effect of the cartoon or students social relationships, their perceptions for the cartoon and their attitudes toward to the cartoon character, that they identify with themselves most was the leading character. It's seen that students are affected by the violent-content scenes. However they are not aware of the negativity of the violence and they find them funny. In addition, it was found that the cartoon created a team spirit in children. It has not only a positive effect on students' language acquisition by enriching vocabulary but also a negative effect that students may use slang words.
