Abstract (EN)
The negative consequences of exposure to mental trauma in childhood are a factor that affects attachment dimensions and the level of engaging in risky behaviors. It is seen with both individual and social effects that people remember their childhood traumas throughout their lives and shape their lives according to these traumas without realizing it. The effects of emotional and physical traumas experienced in childhood cause people to not be able to establish healthy bonds, to exhibit avoidant and anxious behaviors, especially in romantic relationships. Thus, there are findings that people have difficulties in expressing their own potential and true feelings and that they constantly experience problems in their relationships. At the same time, it is seen that the farther these people's attachment dimensions are from anxiety and avoidance, the less likely they are to engage in risky behaviors. It is seen that people who are aware of their emotions and can express their emotions when they want, as they should, feel more comfortable psychologically and do not reflect their potential with antisocial behaviors or negative emotions. When the subject of the research is examined from this point of view, it is important. It has been revealed that the findings obtained from the research support these situations and experiences. A significant relationship was found between childhood psychological traumas and attachment dimensions, risky behaviors and attachment dimensions, and psychological traumas and risky behaviors. It has been found that the marital status of people with avoidant and anxious attachment dimensions is single, and the level of exposure to trauma in the childhood of people who engage in risky behaviors has a higher level of significant relationship than other people. This information is given in more detail in the discussion part of the research. The study is limited as it was conducted only with 250 university students aged 18-25. It is recommended to conduct more comprehensive studies with different groups by selecting larger samples in future studies.
