Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was carried out to understand what kind of relationship exists between childhood parentalization and self-esteem and attachment styles of young people studying at university level. The universe of the research was carried out in the 2019-2020 academic year by T.C. Continuing to the Department of Psychology at Toros University, 1., 2., 3. and 4th grade students. The sample of the study was determined by convenience sampling method. The data of this study are T.C. Continuing to the Department of Psychology at Toros University, 1., 2., 3. and 142 students attending the 4th grade. Data collection tool, personal information form, "Parenting Inventory", "Relationship Scales Questionnaire" and "Self-Esteem Assessment Scale-Short Form" were applied in the study. In order to determine the relationship between parenting, attachment style sub-dimensions and self-esteem variables of the students participating in the study, correlation analysis, multiple linear regression analysis tests were applied to investigate whether attachment style and parenting values predict self-esteem. While the dependent variable of the study was determined as self-esteem, parenting and attachment style were accepted as independent variables. According to the results of the analysis, attachment style and parenting variables did not significantly predict self-esteem, F (2.138 = 1.01; P =.036). Attachment style and parenting variables explained 1% of the variance of the self-esteem variable. Keywords: Self-Esteem, Attachment Styles, Parentification
