Abstract (EN)

The QoL of the patients with CD may be low, especially because they have many gastrointestinal complaints before the diagnosis. Strict adherence to the GFD after diagnosis ensures symptom control and is a prerequisite for improving QoL. But on the other hand, the strict GFD causes serious social limitations in their daily lives and their QoL may still be low. The health-related QoL in patients with CD which is a good indicator for patient-reported outcome of the health has been considered important in both medical research and clinical practice. It is aimed to test the validity and reliability of the CDDUX in Turkish children with CD which is the most used worldwide to evaluate the QoL the children with CD. The tool showed high or excellent internal consistency for both children and their parents (Cronbach's Alpha Scores:0.86 (children), 0.89 (parents)). A generic QoL instrument, PedsQL scale which was used for testing the convergent validity of the Turkish CDDUX, showed statistically significant negative low-level correlation with both forms of CDDUX (child and parent). There was a positive and statistically significant correlation between the forms of CDDUX children and parents. The only variable affects the CDDUX parents score was marital status. There was no signifant correlation between the other parameters for both forms of the CDDUX. The Turkish version of the CDDUX is an acceptable, valid, and reliable scale for the assessment of QoL the children who have CD.
