Abstract (EN)
The study intends to explore the influence of refugee entrepreneurs on the host countries, especially in the context of business sectors. The study focuses on Egypt, Germany, and Turkey to examine the effects of Syrian refugee entrepreneurs on the economic sectors of the communities that have embraced them. This research investigates the role of Syrian refugee entrepreneurs on the local business sector. The study adopts a mixed approach, thereby collecting both qualitative and quantitative data. Snowball sampling was used for selecting the sample population and the research was supported by 6 key informants interviews (KIIs), with the help of 6 Syrian as well as local experts. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were conducted along with Chi- Square analyses using SPSS. The findings show that the investments made by Syrian refugees as entrepreneurs had a favorable contribution on the foundation of new firms, creating new jobs, expanding access to resources, and developing revenue. The results indicate that the entrepreneurial endeavors of Syrian refugees have a considerable role on the economic sectors of the host communities. Besides, Syrian businesses operating in Host nations significantly influenced the labor market by fostering greater access to employment, increased sales and local business expansion due to an increase in customers, promotion of overseas sales, increased accessibility to financial resources, market expansion and easy access to resources, encouragement of the entrepreneurial spirit, and influence on the labor market's social culture. Language barriers, poor accessibility to funding and loans, business plan development, difficulties in marketing products, legal issues, fear of failure, commercial arrangements and challenges in balancing family life and work have proven to be the most significant obstacle for Syrian businesses doing operations in their host countries.
