Abstract (EN)

Homes since the existence of humanity, it has been a part of human life in order to provide shelter and security for individuals. Today, homes are more than just a shelter, they have become a living space that is expected to serve many needs of the person and reflects the quality of life of the user. Individuals aims to continue their lives convenient. The Covid-19 contagious disease, which came with the 21st century and affected the world, has forced all humanity to situations such as quarantine and social isolation. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused significant changes in the ordinary life of people and societies. In this process, with the discourse of "Life Fits Home", the missions of both home and social space, as well as education and office spaces were assigned to the residences. Pandemics are a phenomenon that directly affects the quality of human life; Since housing is the main place at the center of the perception of quality of life, the pandemic process and housing are examined together in the study. In the first part of the study, the concepts of quality of life and urban life quality within the scope of architecture and urbanism were examined and the basic parameters were discussed. The main objective of the study is to analyze how the parameters affecting the quality of life of residential users change before and during/after the Covid-19 pandemic. The study was carried out in Istanbul Ataköy settlement, which is one of the districts with high housing satisfaction in many respects. The residential area, which consists of apartment-type housing estates, whose construction dates back to the 1950s, maintains its currency for researchers with new buildings built over time. In the study, a survey was conducted to address the residents in order to investigate the individual experiences of the residential users during the Covid-19 pandemic process. The changes in the criteria reflecting the quality of life in the houses and the users who have gone through the pandemic process in the houses with different typologies in this process were examined. The study has shown that; The Covid-19 pandemic not only changed people's lifestyles, but also changed the quality of life elements that made the lifestyles in the residence qualified in line with the changing expectations and needs in this process. With the results of the analysis, it is aimed to provide data in the direction of user expectations and needs for future housing designs and planning, within the scope of user life quality in architecture and housing, of the pandemic phenomenon, which remains uncertain whether it will be experienced again in the future
