Abstract (EN)

In the literature, there is no study related to the effect of duration of menopause on posture and functional activity in housewives. The aim of this study is to examine the effect of duration of menopause on posture and functional activity in housewives. Between December 2020 and November 2021, the research was carried out. The menopausal housewives (n=42) were included with an age range of 50-65. To evaluate the effect of the menopause period, the people were divided into two groups according to the duration of the menopause, 2-7 years (n=21) and 8-8+ years (n=21). Both groups provided demographic information and information of housework. New York Posture Rating was evaluated for the posture evaluation of the participants. depression was evaluated with Beck's depression inventroy and, quality of life was evaluated with Nottingham health profile. Using a JAMAR dynamometer, measurements were taken three times from both the dominant and non-dominant hand to assess handgrip strength. TUG and 5XSST were used three times each to evaluate their functional activities. The outcomes were then averaged. Each repetition was followed by a one-minute rest period. As a result of our study, it has been shown that the duration of menopause has no effect on posture and functional activity in housewives.
