Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the oldest diseases. Today, the increasing number of patients infected with multidrug-resistant (MDR-MDR) and common drug-resistant (XDR-YID). Tuberculosis bacilli is the biggest problem in the control of the disease. In this study, 100 M. tuberculosis complex strains clinical materials isolated from patients with a history of pulmonary tuberculosis or suspected contact in 8 provinces and Tuberculosis Dispensary affiliated to Ministry of Public Health Institution Adana Regional Tuberculosis Laboratory. in the 100 M.tuberculosis complex strains, 97 were M. tuberculosis (97%), 3 were M. bovis (3%), as a result of the antibiotic susceptibility test, 59 of the isolates were PZA resistant (59%) and 41 of them were PZA sensitive (41%). As a result of DNA sequence analysis of genes responsible for PZA resistance, 3 PZA natural resistant M.bovis, in 56 of the remaining 49 PZA resistant isolates, pncA (88%) and 9 isolates had panD (16%) mutations, 41 PZA sensitive isolates, 8 pncA (20%) and 5 panD (12%) mutations has been observed. It was observed that 3 PZA resistant and 1 PZA sensitive isolates had both pncA and panD mutation. Keywords: Mycobacterium tuberculosis, drug resistance, Pyrazinamide, pncA gene, panD gene
