Examination of organizational commitment in teacher roles in the history of Turkish Cinema from the Republic Period to the present

The concept of commitment is synonymous with concepts such as attachment, devotion and dedication in Turkish. Commitment is an individual's behavior towards organizational goals and values beyond the formal and normative expectations of the individual. Organizational dedication; It is a situation that shows the relationship between the employee and the organization, ensures that the organization continues, and expresses the psychological approach to the organization. It is the commitment of the employees and expresses the efforts of the organization in which it operates to be successful (Gurdogan, 2018: p. 38-39). As factors affecting organizational commitment; organizational factors (characteristics of work, organizational size and structure, salary, leadership, organizational rewards, role ambiguity and conflict, teamwork, communication and monotony), external factors (family and community pressure, professionalism, alternative job options, escape from uncertainty), personal factors (gender, age, educational background, seniority, personality traits and marital status) can be shown. In studies conducted on the results of organizational commitment, it has been seen that behavioral results include the strongest relationships with commitment. Studies on the results of organizational commitment have shown that behavioral outcomes have the strongest relationships with commitment. The history of Turkish cinema began at the end of the 19th century. The figure of the teacher is frequently used in Turkish Cinema. In the study, the time period between 1966-2016 was divided into sections from 1960-1970, 1970-1980, 1980-1990, 2000 to the present. By determining two films for each section, the teacher figure in ten films in total was examined and organizational commitment behaviors were determined.
