Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between dance activity, psychiatric symptoms, and quality of life. For this purpose, the present research was conducted on individuals who engage in dance activity, who do not engage in dance activity but do sports and those who do not do both activities. Descriptive and relational survey model was used as the research model. The sample of the study consisted of 352 dancing and non-dancing individuals between the ages of 18-55. The data were collected by SF-36 Quality of Life evaluation questionnaire, Psychological Symptom Check List (SCL-90-R), Sociodemographic Data Form. The data were analyzed with Pearson correlation test, Independent groups Student t test and ANOVA tests using SPSS 25. The results of the study showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the participants' sporting and dancing in terms of scale scores. Levels of mental health and quality of life were highest on the ones that do both dance and sports whereas it was lowest on its counterparts who do not do both dance and sports. Results were discussed with the support of previous research.
