Abstract (EN)

Introduction : Burn injury is a type of injury which is the distruptin of skin and organs by the effects of heat, electrical current, chemical caustic or burning agents. The most common cause of burn injury is the scald burns. The purposes of daily burn care are stimulation of epithelization, removing of necrotic tissue, prevention of bacterial contamination, control of travma and protection of systemic complications. Although advancement in burn care, morbidity and mortality is still common problem in plastic surgery. Thus we investigated the histopathological effects of hyperbaric oxygen and ozone therapy, used as adjuvant threapy in burn management, on burning areas by the using experimental burn model.Material and Method: In this study, 28 Wistar albino rats weighting 200-220 gr were used and divided into four groups. %10 burn were occured in all experiments by using the Formula of 9.1 kg multiply by 0.66 . In first groups (n=7), rats were treated with hyperbaric oxygen. Medical ozone threapy was applied to second group (n=7). In third group (n=7), only debridement was used as treatment. Any treatment options were not used to rats in fourth groups(n=7). Biopsy specimens were taken in first and thirtieth day following the occurence of burn areas. Results: Even though, macroscopic evaluation of the group I and II were observed significantly when comparing with other groups, histopathological evaluation was not accepted as meaningful because confidence interval of all groups contain the value of one .Conclusion: As a result, we observed the affirmative effects of hypperbaric oxygen and ozone threapy on burn management. We think that these treatment modalities can be added to standart treatment options as adjuvant threapy.Key words: hyperbaric oxygen, medical ozone threapy , burn
