Abstract (EN)

The structures of the fabrics used in the garment industry are very important. Denim is one of the woven fabric types used in model designs in the textile field. It has an important position in the textile industry not only in model production but also in denim fabric weaving. Clay raw material is a material that is found in nature as alkaline earth and has a crystalline form. Clay minerals have an organic structure. Yellow, red and brown tones can be obtained from this raw material containing iron oxide. Denim, which is dyed using clay raw material, is one of the areas that need to be developed. The occurrence of waste water pollution in indigo dyed products during washing has a negative impact on nature. In clothing groups using clay raw materials, the wastewater generated during washing is recyclable, environmentally friendly and sustainable. Within the scope of the thesis study, model and pattern differences of indigo and clay dyed denim products were evaluated as a result of stone washing. In the study, model design was made with different denim fabrics, indigo dyed with 99% cotton and 1% elastane content and clay dyed with 99% organic cotton and 1% elastane content. It was aimed to determine the shrinkage values of indigo fabric with chemical content after washing and the differences that may occur in organic clay dyed fabric. A total of 8 models were produced from denim. The product groups consist of jackets, pants, shirts and skirts, which are frequently preferred in ready-to-wear clothing. Indigo and clay dyed product groups consist of 2 models top and 2 models bottom. Pre-sewing, pre-washing and post-washing measurements were taken from the prepared models. In the lower groups, measurements were taken from waist, hip, side skirt length, belt width, hem width, calf, side length, inside length, leg width and knee width lines. In the upper groups, chest, waist, hips, shoulders, collar circumference, sleeve length, biceps, cuff cuff, cuff width, slit length, pocket set height, length from the shoulder, and belt width were measured. As a result of the study, it was thought that different shrinkage values were obtained as a result of stone washing of indigo and clay dyed models and clay dyed denim products should be developed.
