Abstract (EN)

Earthquakes can cause various dangers and risks such as causing loss of life and property, causing injuries, stopping ongoing activities and creating a fire hazard. Although most of the hazards and risks due to earthquakes are caused by structural elements, the impact of non-structural elements is also quite high. The measures to be taken by architects and interior architects are as important as the measures that can be taken by the society in the face of dangers and risks. Therefore, earthquake has an important issue in architecture and interior architecture education. When the architecture and interior architecture education programs in the world and in Turkey are examined, it has been observed that most of the universities provide information about structural problems, structure and materials, but they do not have a education program and model for non-structural elements. In this context, the necessity of preparing an up-to-date education program has emerged in order to close the gap in the education program on earthquake and disaster issues in universities. The main purpose of the study is to design a education model in order to improve the knowledge and awareness of interior architecture students about the dangers and risks caused by non-structural elements during an earthquake. In this direction within the scope of the study, an education code map consisting of 11 modules was created on the relationships between hazard-risk-precaution and student achievements. The research model of the study consists of two stages, analysis and design. In the first stage, analysis stage, the determination of the education modules and targets was completed by making a needs analysis with the literature review and the 1st search conference with expert groups. In the second stage, design stage, student requirements, attainments and danger-risk-measures related to modules were determined by the 2nd search conference held with expert groups. In the final stage of the design, the content of the education model was completed by creating a education code map about the relationships between hazard-risk-precaution and student attainments.
