Emotion recognition and emotion regulation on adolescent depressive disorder

When viewed from the emotional intelligence framework; emotion regulation is the interrelated equipment that must be used together to recognize their own feelings and feelings of the other person, understand the emotion and use emotions to manage thought. The correct functioning of this mechanism depends on the harmonious use of all skills. It is possible to carry out the social, academic and family functioning properly only with adequate and appropriate use of emotion recognition, theory of mind and emotion regulation skills. In our study, firstly, it was aimed to determine the variables that affect the deterioration of these skills in Major depressive disorder, which causes vi serious loss of functionality in the adolescent age group. Secondly, the effects of variables such as disease severity, sociodemographic effects, age and gender on emotion regulation and mind theory skills. Our third aim is to determine whether there is a relationship between emotional regulation difficulties and mental theory disorders in adolescents diagnosed with major depression.
