Abstract (EN)
Many factors played roles in the emergence of deism. The most important of these factors is the reaction of some thinkers to the fact that Christian clergymen distorted religion in order to keep religion and its believers under control in 17th century Europe. Deism, which rejects religions, holy books and revelation, argues that God can be found through reason. God is in a position to put perfect order in the universe but then not interfere with anything. Deism, which is a form of philosophical thought, has been re-voiced in recent years, and it has been claimed that it has spread especially among young people in our country. It is stated that young people move away from Islam and prefer a deistic lifestyle. With this study, it is aimed to determine whether the students in five different high school types have a tendency to the idea of deism, if so, the reasons for this situation and the factors affecting the students, how the teachers of religious culture and moral knowledge and imam hatip vocational courses view the idea of deism by using their views. The study consists of an introduction and three parts. In the introduction part, the situation of the problem, the purpose of the research, scope and limitations and related studies are given. In the first part, the conceptual framework of the study was revealed by making a literature review, and in the second part, the method of the research was given. In the third part, the findings of the research were presented and comments were made based on the findings. In the conclusion part, the results of the research were determined and solution suggestions were made to the problem. Qualitative research approach was preferred in the study. In this context, interviews were held with 20 teachers of religious culture and ethics and imam hatip vocational courses working in Tokat in Science High School, Anatolian High School, Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and Imam Hatip High School. In the selection of the study group, the principle of easy accessibility was taken as a basis and purposeful sampling was preferred. A semi-structured interview form was used to collect the data to be used in the research.Descriptive analysis was used in the analysis of the data. According to the opinions of the teachers who participated in the research, it has been revealed that the idea of deism has become widespread in high schools as a concept, but a conscious orientation to deism is not at a dangerous level. Participants stated that students do not fully recognize deism, but those who see religious rules as an obstacle to their freedom see deism as a safe haven. However, it has been revealed that young people, influenced by the turbulent period and questioning they are in, try to recognize the idea of deism with the desire to live comfortably and freely brought about by secularization. In fact, with the effect of social media, it was seen that they started to take an interest in addition to getting to know deism.
