Abstract (EN)
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of injectable-platelet rich fibrin (İ-PRF) application on early wound healing after gingivectomy and gingivoplasty surgery. Materials and Methods: In the randomized controlled single-blind study, 46 patients underwent gingivectomy and gingivoplasty. Postoperative İ-PRF applied regions were compared with control regions. 0th,3rd,7th,14th. and at day 21, the surgical area was stained with mira-2-tone and evaluated in the ImageJ program. Wound healing was evaluated using the modified Manchester scare (MMS) scale and Landry,Turnbull and Howley (LTH) index on days 3, 7, 14, and 21. The 7-day visual analog scale (VAS) was used to measure pain. Results: 3rd, 7th, 14th, 21st of the control group. The amount of staining with mira-2 tone was found to be significantly higher than the test group on days. LTH index values of the control group on the 3rd, 7th, 14th and 21st days were significantly lower than the test group, and MMS scale values were significantly higher than the test group. VEGF value at baseline, 2nd week. In the 2nd and 3rd weeks, FGF-10 value was found to be significantly higher in the control group than the test group in the 2nd and 3rd weeks. Also, the FGF-10 value was significantly higher in the test group than the control group at the beginning. Conclusion: It was determined that İ-PRF application had positive effects on wound healing after gingivectomy and gingivoplasty operations. However, higher FGF-10 and VEGF values in the control group may be due to slower wound healing in the control group. Key Words: İ-PRF, gingivectomy, VEGF, FGF-10
