Abstract (EN)

The gated housing settlements, which were initiated in the USA and spread all over the world, were first built in Turkey around 1980s. The gated settlements, which are the living spaces built for mostly high and high-middle income groups are protected by fences and walls, with surveillance for both entrance and exit. The increase in number of the gated settlements in recent years has led the researchers to examine these houses. In this study, the satisfaction levels of the users living in two examples of the gated settlements in Diyarbakır have been investigated: Hamravat, the first gated housing settlement in Diyarbakır and Gökkuşağı, a recent example of these settlements.
