Early diagnosis is very important in breast and cervical cancer prognosis. The sample of this cross-sectional study is composed of 350 women aged 30-69 years living in the Family Health Center area no. 9 of Kayapınar district of Diyarbakır province. A questionnaire developed in line with the literature was collected. In the study, 87,7% of the women think that the chance of getting rid of cancer by early diagnosis will increase. Women who think that early detection of cancer is important should make breast self-examination (BSE) and have a mammography and pap smear test at a higher level. In the study, it was determined that 17,4% of the women had done BSE every month and 19,4% had at least one mammogram. While the relationship between the age of women and mammograms is significant, the relationship between marital status, educational status, working status, social security presence and mammography is not significant (p˃0.05). 38,3% of the women in the study reported that at least once a smear done. It was found that women who had knowledge of cervical cancer and who knew they should have regular pap smear test for early detection had higher pap smear test (p <0.05). The educational status of women in academy and above, married women and women with social security have significantly more smear tests. In addition, women do not have enough information about KETEM, the national breast and cervical cancer screening standard.
