Comparison of yield and quality prroperties of advanced bread wheat lines in Diyarbakır irrigated condittions with regional cultivars

This research was carried out in order to examine the grain yield and quality characteristics of advanced wheat bread lines developed by CIMMYT-ICARDA breeding programs in Diyarbakır irrigated conditions and to compare with there gional Standard cultivars for the evaluation of superior linesin advanced generations. In the research, 79 advanced bread wheat lines and 7 registered cultivars (Pehlivan, Gerek-79, Karahan, Sönmez, Müfitbey, Bayraktar-2000, Nacibey) were used as materials. The experiment was carried out in Diyarbakır irrigated condition swith 2 replicationsaccordingtotheRandomizedBlocks Trial Design duringthe 2017-2018 cultivationperiod. In the study, yield and quality characteristics such as plant height, spike length, grain number per spike, number of days of spike, thousand grains weight, hectoliter weight, parcel grain yield, Zeleny sedimentation value, protein ratio, gluten ratio were examined. The plant height of the lines used in the study was 56.5-97.8 cm; spike length 5.4-11.1 cm; the grain number perspike was 1.3-29.6; number of days of spike was 141-159 days; thousand grains weight was 25.5-53.7 g; hectoliter weight was 65-81.9 kg; parcel grain yield was found between 6.86-96.95 kg / ha. Zeleny sadimentation value, protein ratioand gluten content in grain were investigatedin 10 bread wheat line swith the highest grain yield. Zeleny Sedimentation values 22-53 ml; protein ratio12.9-13.7%; gluten ratio was found to be between 29.2-42.3%.
