Özet (EN)
Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between clinical parameters and radiologic grade of patients with knee or hip osteoarthritis (OA) and also, to determine the corelation between radiologic skores of symptomatic and asymptomatic sides. Method: Total hundred and seventy-five patients with the diagnosis of hip (n:75) or knee (n:100) OA according to American collage of rheumatology (ACR) criteria participated in the study. Disability related with disease were evaluated using the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC). The perceived pain were measured using the pain subscale of the WOMAC index and a Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Psychologic status were evaluated with the Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HAD) and Nottingham Health Profile (NHP) was used to evaluate the quality of life. The radiological grade of OA was performed according to the Kellgren Lawrence (K/L) score (for hip; r=0.374, p=0.001 and for knee; r=0.78, p<0.001). Results: WOMAC pain, function and total score, NHP physical activity, VAS and patient/physician global assessment were worsened according to radiological grade in hip OA (p=0.002, 0.002, 0.003, 0.017, 0.002 and 0.0001, respectively). WOMAC pain, function and NHP physical activity, VAS and patient/physician global assessment were worsened according to radiological grade in knee OA (p=0.002, 0.007, 0.002, 0. 0001 and 0.0001, respectively). Also, for both hip and knee OA, there was significantly correlation between radiographic grades of symptomatic and asymptomatic sides. Conclusion: In this study, it has shown that certain clinical parameters and found a strong correlation in terms of radiographic scores, and the correlation between radiographic grades of symptomatic and asymptomatic sides were also detected in osteoarthritis.
