The Eastern Pontides, tectonically part of the Alpine-Himalaya orogeny belt, form the boundary of two major plates (Laurasia and Gondwana). Using the surface and air magnetic data for this area, the geological structure of the region and tectonic deformation were investigated. This study covering the entire Eastern Pontides, compares the magnetic data taken from the air (EMAG- 2) and surface (this study). Thus, a more detailed magnetic anomaly map was proposed for this region, and the reasons for the differences between them and the current anomaly map were discussed. By controlling the physical properties of the rocks with the measurement results obtained, the magnetic changes for three different subzones proposed for the region were examined. For this purpose, six different lineament analysis methods, which are frequently used in the literature, were applied. First of all, these methods were applied on the model data and then they were used for the real data. By analyzing the obtained lineaments with Rose diagrams, dominant trends were determined and their possible causes were discussed. In order to compare the results of magnetic data, rose diagrams were created by analyzing three different data (digital elevation data, faults, satellite photo). When all the data were compiled, it was concluded that the general east-west directional lineaments were dominant for the region, and as a result, the region was deformed under a north-south oriented compressional regime.
