Assesment of attitudes and thoughts about health institutes of households of duzce city

Health system changed with family medicine model in Duzce. Views of household about health institutes and patient satisfactions? related to health care were important factors about evaluation of health care by health providersThe aims of this cross-sectional study were to determinate using rate of preventive heath care by househols, health institute preferences of households in sickness, in having chronical diseases and in emergency conditions and to determinate causes of health institute preference.The study was conducted on 445 households to stratify by residential area in Duzce province. The questionnaire form was consist of 77 question and was filled by face to face interviewIn this study; admission numbers to the health institutes by households in the last six months, the last admitted health institute, cause of admission, patient satisfaction in this health institute and the factors related to patient satisfaction was determinated. Preventive health service was mostly accepted by the women, accepted less than women by men and was not accepted by parents in households. Women accepted preventive health service mostly in pregnancy, the vaccination and check-up of their children. Family physician was prefered 96,9% in control and immunization of children. The cause of preference was mostly easy access in control of pregnants and children. State hospital was prefered in emergency conditions by cause of social security coverage. Family physician was prefered causes of easy access and satisfaction from physician in sickness and state hospital was prefered by the cause of social security coverage, satisfaction from physician and laboratory procedures. Number of admission to the health institute in the last six months was 3-5. The most frequent cause of the admission to the health institute was physical examination.Keywords: Household, family medicine, health care, satisfaction.
