Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to conduct a Turkish validity and reliability study of the "Scale for BioPsychoSocial Dimension of Family Physician's Work" developed by Makivić and Klemenc- Ketiš and to see the knowledge and attitudes of family physicians in Edirne about the biopsychosocial approach with this scale. The scale consists of 35 questions and 3 sub-dimensions (biomedical, psychological and social). Of the physicians who participate in the study, 31 (55.4%) were female and 25 (44.6%) were male. The mean age of the physicians was 46.36±8.68 years, 42 (75%) were practitioner family physicians, 14 (25%) were family medicine specialists. The average working year of the participating physicians; in the profession was 21.24±9.25 years, in primary care was 18.36±9.8 years and in the same unit was 8.62±6.35 years. The average number of patients per day was 78.09±20.87 and the average time per patient was 6.68±2.81 minutes. In our study, practitioner family physicians were found to have more holistic, because they had more time working in primary care. When family physicians approach their patients more holistically, the number of patients per day increases. The average time allocated per patient by female physicians was statistically significantly higher than male physicians. In conclusion, with the scale that we conducted a Turkish validity and reliability study, the biopsychosocial approaches of physicians can be measured and physicians with a holistic approach can be trained by providing trainings.
