The research was conducted to examine the metaphorical perceptions of students regarding the concept of homework according to educational levels. The design of the research in which the qualitative research method was used is phenomenology. The research was conducted in the 2022-2023 academic year, selected from 17 state schools in the Devrek district center of Zonguldak province affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, from primary, secondary and high schools. 132fourth grade students from 4 primary schools, 132 seventh grade students from 7 middle schools, and 220 eleventh grade students from 6 high schools participated in the study. A total of 484 students participated in the study. 57.4% of these students were female and 42.6% were male. A semi-structured questionnaire was used as the data collection tool in the research. The data in the research was deciphered by content analysis. In the analysis server, it was understood that the students produced 318 metaphors regarding the concept of homework. The metaphors they produced were gathered under 13 categories called "homework as entertainment", "homework as developer", "homework as unnecessary", "homework as a source of unhappiness and pain", "homework as infinity", "homework as the key to success", "homework as difficulty, effort and effort", "homework as obligation", "homework as reward or punishment", "homework as indispensable", "homework as little decision, more harm", "homework as feedback", "homework as mysterious/special" and "homework as multi dimensional". It was observed that the metaphors showing the students' perceptions regarding the concept of homework were 44.87% negative, 43.51% positive and 11.62% neutral. It was determined that the students' perceptions towards homework became relatively more negative as the education level increased.
