Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is; the research of the effects of zinc picolinate supplement on the levels of glucose, cholesterol, triglyceride and muscle zinc carriers in rats exercised and zinc supplemented for 8 weeks. A total of 42 Wistar albino rats (8-week-old), 7 in each group, were used for the study. Rats; 22 ± 2 ° C temperature, 55 ± 5% relative humidity and 12 hours of light. The rats initially started running at a speed of 10 m / min and reached a speed of 30 m / min (changeable speed) at the end of the 2-week acclimatization period with controlled increases. (Treadmill, MAY-TME 0804, Commat Limited, Ankara) The rats were subjected to a running test for 5 days a week for 6 weeks after the supplementation of zinc picolinate on the diet and the last day, exhaustion exercise was performed for acute exercise. The tilt of the running band can also be adjusted from 0 ° to 15 °. The running test was applied between 08:00 and 10:00. (To ignore basal glucocorticoid activity) Data are evaluated through IBM SPSS (version 22) packaged software by using ANOVA procedure. The comparisons of the groups are analyzed with Tukey Post Hoc test. Data are given as the average of the groups and the standard error of the average (SEM). The values which are less than 0.05 of statistical materiality and possibility statistics are defined as significant. As a result of the evaluation of the data, it was found that the glucose, triglyceride and cholesterol values of the zinc picolinate and exercise applied rats decreased. Zinc transport capacity increased in zinc carriers (ZnT1, ZnT2, ZnT3, ZnT4). As a result, exercise and zinc supplements; which increase the amount of transport of zinc transporter that helped to get out of the cell's zinc that involved more than 300 enzyme activity and by increasing in that amount will contribute to the growth and development in human beings used in appropriate doses; which decrease glucose, triglycerides and cholesterol values; can be said that it will be beneficial for the athletes to make positive contributions to performance and human health and to use them as an ergogenic aid at appropriate doses by the target masses.
