Özet (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine using FASTest commercial kits the infection rates of C. parvum, Cl. perfringes, Rotavirus, E. coli F5, epsilon toxin, mix in lamb and kid with diarrhea in Elazig region and to determine the clinical picture formed by the factors that play a role in the pathogenesis of neonatal diarrhea. As a research material, a total of 150 diarrhea animals were used, ranging from 1-28 days old, 113 lambs and 37 kids, brought to Firat University Animal Hospital in different regions in Elazig region in March-July 2016. The gaita samples taken from the lambs and the kids were screened for C. parvum, Cl. perfringes, Rotavirus, E. coli F5, and Epsilon toxin using FASTest commercial kits. The obtained data were analyzed statistically using SPSS 22.0 program. In this study, rotavirus in 2 (2%), E. coli F5 in 10 (9%), C. parvum in 11 (10%), Cl. perfringes in 39 (34%), epsilon toxin in 12 (10%), mixed infection in 13 (12%) and diarrhea due to other causes in 26 (23%) of neonatal diarrhea lambs were found. Rotavirus in 8 (22%), C. parvum in 6 (16%), Cl. perfringes in 5 (14%), epsilon toxin in 1 (3%), mixed infection in 6 (16%) and diarrhea due to other causes in 11 (29%) of neonatal diarrhea kids were identified. E. coli F5 was not detected in any of diarrhea kids used in this study. When the stool consistency of the neonatal diarrheic lambs was examined, it was found that 55 was loose and 58 was loose-watery. Twelve of the diarrhea kids were found to have loose fecal consistency and 19 were loose-watery. When dehydration level is observed in diarrhea, it is determined that 5-6% of 65, 7-8% of 30 and 9-10% of 10 are in the level of dehydration; 5-6% of 19 of the kids, 7-8% of the 14 and 9-10% of the dehydration levels were found. When depressed states of neonatal diarrhea lambs were examined, it was determined that 6 of the lambs were "absent", 65 were "mild" and 44 were "severe". Twenty-two of the neonatal diarrhea kids were found to have "mild" and 12 "severe" depression. As a result, the ratios of diarrhea agents investigated in Elazig and its provinces in lamb and kid were determined. However, the FASTest rapid diagnostic kits used in the research can play an important role in early detection of diseases and facilitation of treatment. As a result of early diagnosis and treatment, it is possible to reduce loss of lamb and kid in neonatal period. Key words: FASTest, diarrhea, neonatal period, lamb, kid
