Memet Fuat as a critic

Many critics contributed to Turkish literature variously as passed on different way since the Reform Era. Investigating the critics life and their works value in Turkish literary criticism is also important to contribute to richness of the literary criticism as this critic and their work have different value and special qualifications. In this work, feature and nature of literary criticism in Turkish literature from Reform Era to modern days, basic principles' of the criticism methods, objectivity, subjectivity and literary-style in criticism are reviewed. Based on this review Memet Fuat's personality in Turkish literary criticism, view of life, his criticism works and value, differences between other critics, his literature and publishing which was spread on almost a half of century are studied. Memet Fuat (1926-2002) had a significant place in Turkish literature in Republic Period as his productivity, originality; meticulously and selflessly work in different field as criticism, essays, and publishing. Between essays to criticism his criticism type of writing was approaching essay and he defend synthesis which did not exclude research methods and not gave up subjective interpretation. He was the intellectual who was questioner, not instructive and not abstain to make a mistake on his books reviews, arguments, essays and critical reviews. He persisted to emphasize his own thoughts and he was a critic whose interiorize the principle of the respect of other ideas. In this study his essays and critics which are appear in over eighty published books used as a data and reached some outcomes on his criticism. As well as this outcomes have been classified and concreted. On the other hand, we kept our work limited with the title as assess to his hundreds essays that collect into books, written along to forty years needs more extensive work.
