Abstract (EN)

This study deals with Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır's conception of Allah, the universe and human beings and is important in terms of the characteristics of the period in which Elmalılı lived and the picture he presented of the basic areas of existence. Elmalılı's conception of Allah, the universe and human beings has been revealed by taking into consideration the works he wrote in various fields. The study reveals that in the first chapter entitled "The Conception of God", it is understood that Elmalılı has an understanding of God as a fāil-i muhtâr. In the Second Chapter entitled "The Conception of the World", it is revealed that according to Elmalılı, the world is created in accordance with the understanding of God as the fāil-i muhtār and that the world is a world that shows and explains God. According to him, the laws of nature are regarded as God's forms of creation that show how God acts in the universe. Although the law of causality, which is among these laws, has a special importance for Elmalılı, the idea of God the Creator maintains its central position. The order and diversity seen in the universe are explained by various natural laws. The universe, the functioning of which we try to understand, is not the result of coincidence but of God's providence. In the third chapter entitled Human Conception", the human being, who has a special position in the universe, who makes sense of his existence and experiences, and who is aware of this ability, is presented as a whole in terms of meaning and matter.
