Abstract (EN)
Objective: The aim of the study is to clarify the experiences of women after embryo transfer (ET) up to the pregnancy test and the meanings they placed on the embryo. Method: The sample of the study with descriptive phenomenology consists of 17 women with ET. The data of the study were collected between September 2019, February 2020, with individual in-depth interviews, using personal information and semi-structured interview form. The data were analyzed by the thematic analysis method of Braun and Clarke. In reporting this study, Qualitative Research Reporting Consolidated Criteria has been used as a guide. Results: Seven themes and 22 sub-themes were obtained from the analysis of the interviews. The main theme of the effect of the transfer on the relation is sub-themes of ''a process of two people'', ''interlocking with the environment'' and ''escaping from questioning views''. The emotional confusion theme in the ET process sub-themes of ''four seasons together'', ''preparedness: good or bad'', ''balancing your emotions: neutrality'' and ''keeping morale high''. In the theme of pregnancy biologically; the sub-themes of "look at yourself with a pregnant eye" and "first encounter with the baby" were found. It is not the embryo, but my child's contact sub-themes of "always hope'', ''unnatual but normal'' and ''attachment to embryo'' were found. In daily life theme after ET; there are sub-themes of ''continuing life'', ''staying passive at home'', ''self-listening process'' and ''negative effects of drugs on the body''. In the theme seeking ways to ensure fertility; sub-themes of ''rest after transfer'',''search for information: the internet'', ''practice an infertility diet'' and ''spiritual support with prayer'' were found. The sub-themes of ''more information'' and ''unmet need for attention'' were determined in the last theme, desired care after transfer. Conclusion: With this study, during the waiting period after ET, women experienced many physical and emotional experiences, their daily lives were affected and it was understood that they established a close bond with their embryos.
