Abstract (EN)
Aim; This study aimed to evaluate the morphological, microbiological and histopathological effects of Lactobacillus rhamnosus and interleukin 1 receptor antagonist application on wound healing in rats with infected wounds. Method; A total of 90 male rats were used in this study. Two main experimental groups were created: wound group (S) and infected wound group (B). In both groups, a total of 10 groups were created, including Control, Positive control, Lactobacillus rhamnosus group, interleukin 1 receptor antagonist, Lactobacillus rhamnosus + interleukin 1 receptor antagonist subgroups. Photographs of the wound areas of all groups were taken on the 1st, 7th and 14th days, and three animals from each were sacrificed and tissue samples taken were analyzed morphologically, microbiologically and histopathologically. Results; In morphological evaluations, wound sizes of infected wounds and wound groups on the 7th day were significantly smaller in groups B3 and S3 than in the other groups. In microbiological evaluation, while the proliferation of bacteria was higher in groups B on both the 1st day and the 7th day, prevented the proliferation of S. aureus in the groups where IL1RA and Lactobacillus rhamnosus were applied separately and together. In histopathological evaluation, it was observed that the amount of collagen increased in the S3 group compared to the S group on the 14th day. On the 7th and 14th days, it was observed that the amount of collagen decreased in the S2 group compared to the BG, the collagen amount increased in the S3 group compared to the S2 group, and the collagen amount increased in the B1 group compared to the S2 group.
