Examination of religious and spiritual elements in Erdem Bayazit's works within the perspective of religious psychology

Adil Erdem Bayazıt lived between 1939-2008. The years that the poet lived in were a difficult period in religious, political and social terms both in Turkey and in the world. Bayazıt reflected the difficulties of the period he lived in in his Works. He offers his readers religius and spiritual volues as a recipe for salvation. Bayazıt aimed to instill religious and spiritual volues in Muslims and societies oppressed by the wheels of modernism. While the poet was alive, he received the appreciation of Muslims both in literary terms and as a person. At the same time, after his death, he guided Muslim and Turkish youth with his voluabla works. The ideas he had illuminate the period in which he lived and also shed light on our day. Bayazıt left Works worth examing in terms of religious psychology because he included relgious and spiritual elements in his poems. In the ,first part of this study; religian, religiosity, religiosity dimensions and values are included. In the light of the given concepts, the religious freeling reflected in Bayazıt's works has been determined. In the second part of the study, Bayazıt's life is briefly discussed. In order to adequately understand the message of a work, it is recessary to know the inner world of the aothor. Therefore, important turning points in the poet's life are included and the events that shaped his personality are narrated. In this section, the poet's intellectual background and works are included. Bayazıt always wants the Muslim people to act with a sence of unity and solidarity, unite their forces and stand tall. He aimed to highlight Islamic values by rejecting all kinds of modernism imposed by the west. He always managed to keep alive the ideal of making Muslims strong with his pen. In the third section, the method of the study is explained. In fourth chapter, the elements of belief and worship are explained and their effects an humans are discussed in terms of religious psychology. Based an these explanations, the religious elements in the works were stated and interpreted from the perspective of religious psychology. Concepts that come to the fore in Bayazıt's works in a religious sense; ıt has been identified as Allah, prophet, mosque, prayer, ablution, fasting, supplicatian, heaven, haram, Mecca, Medina, adhan, Quran, dhikr, Muslim, faith. The values identified in the Works were explained and interpreted in terms of religious psychology through the examples in the poems. The values identified in Bayazıt's Works are as follows; religious feeling, reason, morality, justice, love, friendship, respect, courage, patience and perseverance, unity and solidarity, hope, idealism, loyalty, helpfulness, diligence, empathy, role-model, self-control, historical, awareness, woman, homeland, struggle-indomitability.
