The growth of the world's population, and the rapid development of today's technology have also increased globally in air transport. In fast-moving air transportation, competition has been increased by establishing private airlines as well as flag carriers of countries. As a result, it has been observed that the preferences of airlines have changed for the purpose of travel for passengers over the years and the dynamic continuity of competition between airlines, the development of airlines themselves, and in order to keep the quality standards alive. It has begun to appear according to the purposes of the passengers traveling. In this study, the reasons why passengers prefer airlines and the types of the purposes will be investigated. The results of these reasons vary according to the answers given to the questions. Additionally, results will help to improve the strategic decision-making processes of airlines. The 550 people surveyed by the researcher sampled the research conducted in Turkey. The results of the study are generally focused on passengers travelling touristically in making their journeys according to the purposes of the passengers who prefer the airline, low cost ticketing it is seen that the parameters of charging and saving time are more important than the preferences of passengers travelling for business travel purposes.
