Evaluation and association of some biochemical parameters in patients with renal diseases in fallujah city in Iraq

Renal diseases are spread in the city of Fallujah in Al-Anbar Governorate-IRAQ, so it is important to study their effect on human health. This is significant as renal diseases raise the risk of heart attack and stroke, as well as kidney failure needing dialysis or transplantation.This study was aimed to determine the level of vitamin D, thyroid hormones, and some other parameters associated with chronic kidney disease and to know the extent of the effect of chronic kidney disease on their levels in patients with chronic renal disease in Fallujah, Iraq (Al-anbar governorate). Samples were collected at Fallujah General Hospital, in cooperation with the Department of Nephrology Consultation and the Laboratory Department. The samples of patients with chronic kidney disease were 60 (30 men and 30 women). The control group samples were taken from 50 healthy people (30 men and 20 women). Laboratory tests were carried out in the laboratories of Fallujah General Hospital. Results of age did not show between the patients group and and the control group any significant differences P-value( P>0.5). Blood urea and serum creatinine showed highly significant increase(P<0.05) in CKD patients compared to controls. uric acid result showed significant increase(P<0.05) between the patient group compaired to the control group. Albumin results showed significant decrease (P<0.05) in the patient group compared to control groups. T3 and T4 results showed significant decrease(P<0.05) in the patient group compared to control group.TSH results did not showed any significant differences(P>0.05) between the patient group compared to the control group. 25(OH) D results showed significant decrease(P<0.05) in the patient group compared to the control group.
