Eva the evaluating the effects of the duration of marriage on sexual life and marital adjustment by means of demographical features

The goal of this research is to examine effects of marriage duration on sexual life and marital satisfaction. In addition to this, analysis of the results have been also tested by demographical characteristics. Fort his purpose, 120 participants, who were randomly selected in Istanbul were subjected to a survey including Personal Information Form, Arizona Sexual Experiences Scale,Marital Satisfaction Scale and relationship between marriage duration, sexual life and marital satisfaction was analyzed. SPSS 21.0 statistical technique has been applied for the results of analysis. According to results of the study; there was a significant negative correlation between participants' Sexual Life Scale total score and Marital Satisfaction Scale total scores. (p<0,05) Marital Satisfaction Scale total score mean of participants when analyzed in terms of marriage duration variable; the average difference between groups was statistically significant. Sexual Experiences Scale total score mean of participants when analyzed in terms of marriage duration variable; the average difference between groups was not statistically significant. While the Marital Satisfaction Scale total score mean of the participants, according to age and marital status variables, is statistically significant for the group mean differences; the group mean differences, for the variables as gender, work status, number of childeren, educational level, economic conditions and oldest/youngest children, are found to be not significant. On the other side, Sexual Experiences Scale test total score mean is found to be significant with the age, gender, educational level, number of children and marital status; it is not found to be statistically significant with the educational level, economic conditions and oldest/youngest children.
