Abstract (EN)
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental deficit characterized by social communication-interaction-problems and restricted and/or repetitive behaviors. Parents show emotional reactions such as shock, denial, sadness, frustration when their child has been diagnosed autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The ability to resist and overcome these reactions is defined as resilience. The objectives of this research are; to determine the level of parents' ability to evaluate the symptoms of ASD, to determine whether there is a significant relationship between the parents' perception of the degree of being affected by disability and the levels of evaluating the level of ASD and also to determine whether parental resilience is a predictor of the parent's perception of the degree of being affected by disability. The study included 115 parents with children with ASD and 115 specialists providing education to these children in early childhood and preschool period. Demographic Information Form, Adapted Autism Behavior Checklist (U-ODKL), Family Resilience Scale (AYÖ) and Perception of Impairment Scale (YEDA) were used in this study. The results of the research; There is no statistically significant difference between the levels of parents and specialists evaluating the symptoms of ASD in children, there is a high and positive relationship between the parents 'perception of the degree of being affected by disability and the levels of evaluating the level of ASD, and a meaningful predictor of the parents' perception of the resilience skill and the degree of being affected by disability. Described objectively of autism symptoms is one of the important factors for the parents to develop perceived ability the severity of disability and resilience skill.
