Özet (EN)

The friendly relations between the Ayyubids and Khwarazmshahs, which started during the reign of Malik Ādil I, turned into a conflict when Jalāl al-Dīn Khwarazmshah besieged Ahlat during the reign of Ashraf Musa, the ruler of Jazira. After the events in Ahlat, the Ayyubids and Anatolian Seljuks united and defeated Jalal al-Din Khwarazmshah at Yassı Çimen. After Jalaluddin escaped after the Mongol attack and was killed near Meyyâfârîkin, the Khwarzemshahs, who were left adrift, first entered the service of the Anatolian Seljuks and then the Ayyûbids. The Khwarazmshahs, who entered the service of Melik Salih Ayyub, clashed with the Ayyubids in Jazira, Aleppo and Damascus. As a result of the turmoil caused by the conflicts, the region entered an unstable period. The group, which was defeated in the war with the Ayyubids of Damascus, formed an alliance with the Ayyubids of Meyyâfârîkin after a while and met again with the Ayyubids of Aleppo and were defeated. The Khwarzemshahs, who went to the Palestine region upon the call of Salih Ayyûb, took Jerusalem, which was given to the Crusaders after the Damascus Ayyûbids-Crusader alliance. They fought against the Damascus-Crusader alliance in the Gaza / La Forbie war with the Ayyubids of Egypt and were successful. Subsequently, they participated in the siege of Damascus under the instruction of Salih Ayyub and took the city from Salih Ismail. Later, they formed an alliance with Salih Ismail and besieged Damascus for the second time. Tired of the turmoil they caused in the region, the Ayyubids of Aleppo-Humus united and defeated the Khwarazmshahs in the battle of Kassab/Humus. After this defeat, the Khwarzemshahs, who were completely dispersed, entered the service of the states in the region and the Mongols and mixed with them.
