Comparison of body composition of the 12-16 age group athletes in different team sport branches

Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study was to examine and compare these values with each other body composition of the 12-16 age group athletes in different team sport branches. Our research participated the study as a volunteer which are boxing, taekwondo, karate and judo dealing with and professional and amateur teams playing total 66 male and 29 female athletes in the province of Trabzon. Athletes who agreed to participate were measured age, height, weight, body mass index, body fat percentage, fat (kg), lean body mass, liquid (kg) in this study. Significant differences were found between fat (kg) and with in female athletes. Significant differences were found between gender and with fat percentage (U= 686,500, p= 0.029; U=411.500, p= 0.000). Fat percentages were found to be higher in athlete engaged karate. Significant differences were found between branches with fat percentage in athletes (KW=13.218 P=0.004). As a result of this research findings and as a literature it can be said that structure of body has to be appropriate with the engaged sports branch.
