Technical problems of cello students at different levels; Akdeniz University State Conservatory example

The aim of this study is to examine the technical problems experienced by cello stu-dents on the instrument and to suggest suggestions for the technical problems that students are having the most problems in accordance with the results. The participants of the research are the students at the different levels of the cellar section who study at the Akdeniz Univer-sity, Antalya State Conservatory. These students at different levels are elementary, junior high, high school, undergraduate and graduate students. What are the technical difficulties experienced by cello students? From the problem culmination we have collected under three headings, what are left hand technical problems? There are sub problems in the form of posture, holding and seizure problems. For this rese-arch, a descriptive survey model was used as a qualitative research method, and observation form questions were prepared by referring to three expert opinions. A five-point scoring key was used for the questions on the prepared observation form. In the questionnaire form pre-pared from the sub-problems, 13 questions were prepared for right hand / arche technique, 12 questions for left hand technique and 10 questions for posture, grip and sitting. After the application was completed, the data obtained from the observation form were directly transferred and tabulated. It is found that the cello students who are at diffe-rent levels in the direction of the data obtained from the study have the most problems from the right hand techniques such as staccato, spiccato and marcato, the opposite from the left e techniques and the straightest articulation, intonation and ambush positions, arm and wrist coordination to do the right behavior can be done. It is foreseen that the fact that students have a disciplined self-study in this direction and works with the right materials such as exercise and etudes will reduce the problems to be experienced.
