The effects of lysolecithin supplementation as emulsifier to diets with different energy levels on growth performance, slaughtering parameters and serum biochemistry parameters of broilers

The present study was planned to investigate the effects of lysolecithin supplementation at three different levels to the diets containing three different energy levels on growth performance, serum biochemistry and slaughtering parameters of broilers. In the research, a total of 720 male broiler chicks that included 9 groups which contained 4 replicates of chicks each included 20 chicks. According to the research results, reduction of diet energy level parallely decreased the final body weight (BW) (P<0.05) and the body weight gains (BWG) (P<0.05), increased feed intake (FI) (P<0.01) and deteriorated feed conversion ratio (FCR) (P<0.01) at the period of 0-6 weeks of broilers. On the other hand, the increase at dietary supplemented lysolecithin level parallely increased final BW (P<0.05) and BWG (P<0.05), decreased FI (P<0.001) and improved FCR (P<0.001) at the period of 0-6 weeks of broilers. Hot and cold carcass yields of group fed the diet with reduced energy at 120 kcal/kg ME level were significantly higher than those of broilers fed the diet with normal energy (P<0.05). In addition, the dietary supplementation of lysolecithin at 250 or 500 g/ton significantly increased the hot and cold carcass yields of broilers compared to those of broilers fed the diet without the lysolecithin supplementation (P<0.05). At the end of the experiment, the relative weights of liver and abdominal fat were significantly decreased by reducing of dietary energy levels and increasing of supplemented lysolecithin level. Reducing of dietary energy level in parallel significantly decreased serum triglyceride, total cholesterol, HDL and LDL cholesterol levels. On the other hand, increasing of lysolecithin level that was supplemented to diet significantly reduced serum triglyceride, total cholesterol, HDL and LDL cholesterol levels of broilers. As a result, increasing of lysolecithin level that was supplemented to diet positively affected the investigated parameters while reducing dietary energy level negatively influenced growth performance, slaughtering and serum some biochemistry parameters of broilers.
