Abstract (EN)
This study is a numerical investigation of a number of existing experimental studies on the behavior of masonry walls. The scope of the research can be increased economically and a more comprehensive database can be provided for the application, by the numerical modeling of the experimental studies and the search for the intermediate cases that were not tested with the validated modeling technique. In the present experimental study, five different sized wall samples were produced with Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) and aerated concrete adhesive by keeping the mortar thickness constant. As a result of the experimental studies, the parameters of the materials were used in numerical modeling. The results obtained as a result of experimental and numerical studies were compared and the accuracy of the prepared computer model was determined. Additional models were created for the intermediate cases that were not experimented, and the results were interpreted. A simplified micro modeling technique was used in the numerical study. Within this technique, the binder mortar properties are included in the model with interface elements. Cohesive interface elements are defined between the AAC units. Concrete Damage Plasticity (CDP) theory was used to determine the damage status of this units. This study consists of five main sections. In the first, general information about masonry walls is given. The second section is the literature summary, and the third is include the theories and technical requirements related to numerical modeling. In the fourth, the experimental study details and the modeling stages are given. Finally, the results of the analysis are presented and compared with the experiments. The graphs obtained by including four intermediate cases, which were not experimented, were examined.
