This study is done to present the effects of different stretching time on the performance of the vertical jumping. In this study, it is picked out 120 (60 boys, 60 girls) students whose ages changes 17-24 as a subject by coincidental sample method. Subjects are divided into 4 groups; 30 people which are constituted 15 girls and 15 boys, 15 seconds group, 10 seconds group, 5 seconds group and control group. Subjects are provided to vertical jumping according to procedure and first test, last test data are obtained. In the analysis of the data obtained is used SPSS 11.0 Packaged Software. Arithmetic average of data, standard deviations, frequency and percentage distributions tabulated are interpreted. Differences between variables are calculated with ANOVA statistical method, determination of the differences between which group has, is used BONFERONNİ test. In the study, level of significance is selected as 0,05.After the data have been reviewed, it is seen that; static stretching exercises of the group 15 seconds and 10 seconds reduced their vertical jump performance. But in the 5 seconds group, any reducement isn?t seen and it shows some similarities with the control group. This result doesn?t change in men but in women group, 10 seconds group also shows similarity with 5 seconds and control group. The study shows: before vertical jump, performing static stretching, 10 seconds for women and 5 seconds for men, don?t reduce their performance and when positives features of static stretching exercises are considered, it is stated that these exercises should be preferred.
