Abstract (EN)

The basis of a successful endodontic treatment is forming, cleaning root canal in a very good shape with sufficient mechanical preparation and irrigation, thereafter it has to be filled in 3-dimensional way. The purpose of this study is to investigate the change in root dentine micro hardness and in surface roughness by using different irrigating agents. In our study 60 maxillary incisors and canine human teeth were used. The crowns of all teeth are separated from the roots on 2 mm from the top of cement- enamel junction. Tooth roots are divided into two parts so that the longitudinal with a diamond saw. The resulting samples were embedded in acrylic blocks and grinded. All of the samples were divided into 3 groups before the irrigation process so that 3 measuring for each sample for microstructural and so that 5 measurements for each sample surface roughness measurements were made. 5% NaOCl irrigation agent for the first of the group, QMix combination of both irrigation agent for the second one, 2% CHX irrigation agent for the third group was applied for 15 minutes. After the irrigation process micro structural and surface roughness measurements of all samples again were made. In the statistical analysis of the groups ANOVA analysis of variance and Tukey test was applied and a significant difference in all groups in statistically was observed (p <0.05). According to the results of microhardness it is observed that 5% NaOCl and QMix combination of both irrigation agents reduce the level of micro hardness of the dentine equal and more than CHX 2% irrigation agent. According to the surface roughness results QMix combination of both irrigation agent is caused a further increase in the dentine surface roughness than others. 5% NaOCl and 2% CHX agents has been the caused equal and less increase on the surface roughness.
