Investigation of relationships between appropriatness of Fatih state hospital laboratory conditions to anatomical structures of laboratory workers and formation of musculoskeleteal sufferings

Transmission into industrial community and resulting changings such as sedentary working, inappropriate design of workplaces, insufficient organization of working and working method, incorrect working procedures cause static muscle functioning, postural deficiencies and other health problems. Laboratory staff experience some muscle-skeletal system disorders as a result of repeated and severed physical actions, working for long times without rest, working in a wrong posture, standing for long times, and bad ergonomic conditions. In this study, we aimed to examine relationship of anatomical measures and appropriateness of these anatomical structures to working-place with muscle skeletal system problems on Fatih State Hospital Laboratory staff. This study is performed with Fatih State Hospital Laboratory staff between May-June 2014. This study is performed by using prepared surveys and anatomical measures of those laboratory staff. Nordic suryey is used for evaluation of muscle-skeletal disorders. In this study, we observed that these laboratory staff had muscle-skeletal disorders mostly on lumbar, neck and back regions at the last 12 months. We found statistically important results about muscle-skeletal system problems associated with personal information and anatomical measures of laboratory staff, and properties of working place. For prevention of those observed problems it is necessary to have ergonomic regulations, organizing ergonomy related educations and attempts.
