Woman identitiy in Fatma Barbarosoğlu's stories

FatmaBarbarosoğlu (1962- ) is a remarkable writer for her novels, stories, discourses, articles, essays and columns in the last period of Turkish Literature. She includes woman identities in 6 of her stories. In addition to this, she is a sociologist. This paper aims to determine different woman identities in the writer's stories and reveal how they behave both in public sphere and private sphere. This work consists of seven parts except for the introduction part. In the introduction part, woman identities from Tanzimat Reform Era to now are emphasized. In the first part; woman in family, in the second part; woman in social environment, in the third part; educated/intellectual woman, in the fourth part; workwoman, in the fifth part; woman in the context of religion and belief, in the sixth part; woman who has existence problem and in the seventh part; woman in man's sight is handled.
